Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Remember you're the one that can fill the world with sunshine.

This movie was released in 1937 and produced by Walt Disney Productions. The film was based on the German fairy tale by the Grimm Brothers.

SPOILER ALERT!
In this Disney representation we meet a fourteen year old princess named Snow White. She is unfortunately faced with the obligation of being a maid in her own castle by her evil stepmother. Later on, the queen tells the huntsman to kill Snow White by stabbing her in the heart. Luckily, he lets her go when they arrive in the forest. As she escapes, she finds a small cottage that belongs to seven dwarfs. They will decide to let her live with them to protect her from her stepmother, the queen. At the end of the movie the queen gives a poisoned apple to Snow White that will put her to sleep for the rest of her life. But because it is a Disney movie, it all ends well because the prince comes and gives her a true loves kiss and they all live happily ever after.

In my opinion, I would give a three out of five stars, which means I found it not terrible but not the most incredible Disney movie of all times. I thought that although they sing with a high pitched voice, the rhythm of each song was good and it gets stuck in your head for a while but, not in an unbearable way. During the first part of the movie we have the chance to meet the prince while Snow White is singing a song near the wishing well. Even if it is a cute scene I still think that they fall too quickly in love with each other. Also, because it is an old movie, which means the technology is not very good, the colors and the pigmentation are not as detailed as it is today. While I was watching the movie I was surprised to see that the princess was saying her prayers before she went to bed, which allows us to think about the old days and realize that religion was much more important in the 1900's than in our time.

In conclusion, I liked the movie especially because of the songs and even though it is the first Disney movie it is still fun to watch and re-watch when you get older because you get to relieve your childhood filled with magic and imagination.

  3. Really interesting, it is nice to have the advice of and expert. :) It should be nice if you were able to find a way to put the numbers of stars and not just say it.
