Pinocchio

Always let  your conscience be your guide.

This movie was  published in 1940 by Walt Disney, is second after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was  inspired  by the Italian writer Carlo Collodi in 1883.

SPOILER ALERT!
This Disney movie tells the story of a wooden carpenter named Geppedo. He one day, makes a puppet made of wood and names it Pinocchio. One night, he wishes upon a star to have a real boy, the blue fairy hears his wish and decides to grant it. She then gives three conditions to Pinocchio and if he follows them he will become a real boy. Her three conditions are; he has to always be brave, truthful and unselfish. Gemini Cricket will then play the role of his conscience to help him during the entire movie to keep the blue fairy's conditions. Of course during this movie things will go terribly wrong and Gemini Cricket will have to save Pinocchio from the problems he gets himself into. But it will end with a happy ending as always.

In my opinion, I think that I would give this movie a three out of five stars because I thought that overall, it did not have a lot of songs which was less entertaining to watch. Although this movie did not reach up to my expectations, I did enjoy most of the movie. I liked the fact that Pinocchio smokes with his friend, but he gets sick. This scene demonstrates to children and parents as well, that smocking is not a good habit and it is therefore not a good idea to smoke while children are in the room because it isn't healthy for them. This movie also teaches kids not to talk to strangers, especially with the ones who dont look trustworthy because you never know what their intentions are. The movie is in general about showing kids about the real world, but in a more gentle way then it is in real life.

In conclusion, this film is definitely not one of my favorites. Because first of all, it did not have a lot of songs which is in my opinion a must in a Disney movie. I also thought that it did not have a lot of actions and it is for that particular reason that I found this movie rather long compared to the other Disney movies that I usually watch. I will however consider the fact that this movie is definitely for a younger audience compared to the other Walt Disney films.

  1. You see a lot more in the Disney movies than I do. I am a great fan also, particularly the newer films.
